15 Images. The stroy

The idea for our 15 images.

our group  idea for the images were to show the destruction and abonnement of my granddads house.
The idea came rom inspirations such as, Nik fijen how is a German photographer that photographs old abandoned building.

This is examples of Fijen's work that inspired me                                          Nik Fijen website:                                                                                                                           http://www.nikifeijen.com/inspired me.

I wanted to have feel of abandonment and ghostly feeling. I love Fijen's work, his photos are really beautiful.

Using my Granddads house really gave me the opportunity to get a chance at creating photos like Fihen.

Editing off 15 image

Original Image

Photoshop image

 Image 1

I haven changed much on this image because it has enough going on with the wallpaper and shelves.

All I have changed is the contrast because of the dark wood and shelves and the brightness because when i took the image, the flash bounced off the white gloss paint surrounding the door frame.

With these two images, I had to change a lot from the original image. The original is very yellow.
I brought down the shadows
at the bottom of the image and brought the highlights up to make it more clear.

Also I changed the RGB to grey scale.

Image 3This image I decided to create a colour splash' effect. this is keeping the Polaroid image in colour and the rest of the background and my hand in black and white. The way I did this was by using a layer mask in Photoshop, after I created the layer mask I used a blur to create a warped feeling to the image. It hasn't showed up very well in the edited image, so I've taken it out of my final image.

Using and image filter, I made the image very cold with a blue filter. I wanted to create a aerie feeling. also i used curves to add to the distortion. plus I used a fill and took away the image in patches. this is adding to the uneasy feeling which I am trying to create.

Using the blur tool and dodge I blurred the image around the photograph, again this is adding to the distortion and stylistic feel I wanted for this project.

Also, the original image is very yellow and orange. I turned down the contrast down and brought the brightness down.

Photoshop Image

This is one of my favourite images. When I took this image, my mum was holding this photograph. In the photograph is a baby, that baby is my granddad.

Like nearly image, it has turned out very dark and dusky.
I used the dodge and burn tool to make the photograph stand out a bit more and to make the original photo change colour. It's not turned blueish and I've blurred the background

When taking this photo I used shutter speed to create this image. I turned the shutter speed down so I could move position to make this ghostly effect. In Photoshop I changed the image brightness and contrast to get rid of the darkness.

Image 8

I took this image awhile ago and so I edited and not kept the original. My granddad was a painter  and when we had to clear the house his stuff had fallen on the floor. The newspapers were on the walls, behind the wallpaper. This image really shows how gritty and dirty the house has gotten since anyone had lived in it.

Original Image

The same with this image as image 8. I took this image awhile ago and must edited it and not kept the original.

I really like this image, this image was my granddads room where he could write his poems, and he would paint. this image is very gritty and that is the feeling i am going for.

Image 10

This is the original image but I am very happy with it.
This is my granddads cupboard which he could keep him paintings.
The composition of the old door is framing the image. At the bottom of the image you can see family photos scattered.

Image 11

Photoshop image-  the original image was again, very orange.
I took the brightness down and the contrast.
when the image is bigger, the viewer will be able to read the writing

Image 12

I  have decided to keep this image the same, its lighter than all my images. I wanted to keep it the same because it the only photograph me and my grandfather have when I am little.

Image 13

I have two images for number 13. I haven't chose which photo I want as my final.
When I took the image, I used a slow shutter speed which gives it that ghostly feel.

Image 14

By changing the brightness it brings the whole image together. the photograph in the background is not in focus because I wanted the camera in the foreground more prominent

Original Image
 Outside of the house,
original photograph was taking by my
granddad and the photograph in background was taken by me.
In Photoshop I have just changed the brightness and contrast.

Edditing On Premiere Pro

As a class we had a task to edited moving image with sound clips

We were given the moving images in different sequences and we decided what order we wanted it in. .

I really enjoyed this task, I have done a short intro for a short film using moving image and still image, also I used music to add to the party atmosphere.

The logo 'overdose' was made by another group member, he has an interest in graphic design. .

Focal Length

Focal Length

The focal length tells us the angle of view—how much of the scene will be captured—and the magnification—how large individual elements will be. The longer the focal length, the narrower the angle of view and the higher the magnification. The shorter the focal length, the wider the angle of view and the lower the magnification.

Standard Lens—FX format approx. 50 – 60mm / DX format approx. 35mm

Standard lenses are popular as they are closest to the angle of view we humans see. These lenses have minimal distortion, which can be flattering to the subject. They tend to use large apertures and allow a lot of light to enter the lens which makes them fast in low light conditions. The large apertures also produce a pleasing out-of-focus effect to the background which concentrates the attention of the viewer on the subject. Standard lenses are the popular choice for a wide range of photography including portraiture, nature and low light situations where the photographer can not use a flash or is looking to capture the scene with available light.
